Thomas Lockwood, Ph.D., is the founder and a contributor of this blog. Reason being, it takes people, processes and places for innovation to flourish, so lets dig into it.
Lockwood is the editor of Design Thinking: Integrating Innovation, Customer Experience and Brand Value (2010), and co-editor of The Handbook of Design Management (2011), Corporate Creativity (2008) and Building Design Strategy (2007).
He has a doctorate and MBA in design management from the University of Westminster, and a BA from Eastern Michigan University. He is the founding partner of Lockwood Resource, and served as the President of the non-profit Design Management Institute from 2006 – 2011, Editor-in-chief of the DMI Review and DMI Journal from 2005 – 2012, and a design director at Sun Microsystems and StorageTek from 1995 – 2006.
He is a Fellow at the Royal Society of the Arts in London, a frequent design award judge, and was a visiting professor at Pratt Institute in New York City. He has also been a speaker or led design workshops in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey and Brazil.
